ALEXANDR KONSTANTINOVICH BOGOMAZOV (1880-1930)
Painter, graphic artist, monumentalist. Studied at the Kiev art school (1902-11) under V.Menk, A.Murashko, at K.Yuon's and I.Rerberg's studio in Moscow (1905-07). Participant of exhibitions from 1907 ("The Link", "The Jack of Diamonds", "The Ring", etc.). In 1914 writes book "The Elements of painting " (not published). In 1914-17 ãã. works in the Caucasus. In Kiev designs revolutionary holidays (1919), agitational trains (1920). Teaches at the Kiev art printing school (1918-22), the Institute of plastic arts (1922-30). Largest representative of the Ukrainian avant-guard. His works are presented in many museums of the world. His retrospective exhibition was held in Toulouse (France) (1991).
