KONSTANTIN ALEKSEEVICH KOROVIN (1861-1939)
Outstanding Russian artist, largest representative of impressionism in Russian painting. He was educated at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture And Architecture (1883) under of A.K.Savrasov and V.D.Polenov. The traditions of his teachers, founders of new Russian landscape painting, were not forgotten by the artist afterwards. The mature creative manner of the Master, basically formed by the end of the 1890s, had absorbed them alongside with the lessons of French impressionist school. The combination of these qualities is vividly demonstrated by the landscapes represented in the exhibition.
