Exhibition activities of museum-gallery "The New Hermitage" are exceptionally diverse. Art likes were determined long ago. The gallery combines in its funds works of the last century, of the turn of the last century and Russian advant-guard.

Savrasov, Polenov, Serov, Levitan, Korovin, Shishkin, Vasnetsov, Kustodiev, Tropinin, Fedotov, Falk, Osmyorkin, Lentulov, Mashkov, Stenberg, Malevich, Filonov, Annenkov.

Such combination within the gallery is quite natural and explainable. "The New Hermitage" has its own aesthetic prejudices and sympathies: revering traditions, it likes advant-guard.

From the very beginning of collecting, the nature of the future gallery seemed to be as follows: it should be national, consisting of pictures of Russian artists, and historical, demonstrating domestic art in its historical development.
