ANTON IVANOVICH IVANOV-GOLUBOI (1818-1864)
Born as a serf. Studied under E.G. Tchernetsov, then under G.G. Tchernetsov (1833-39). From 1840 studied at the Academy of Arts in St.-Petersburg . In 1846 left for Italy together with the Tchernetsovs, where lived and worked up to the end of his life. Painted mainly landscapes containing genre scenes; made numerous pencil sketches of Italian views.
