ROBERT RAFAILOVICH FALK (1888-1958)
Painter in oils and graphic artist. Studied at K. Yuon`s and I.Dudin`s studios, as well as at I.Mashkov`s studio (1903-1904), at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1905-1909) under V.Serov and K.Korovin. Participant of exhibitions from 1906 ("The Golden Fleece", "The World of Art", "The Jack of Diamonds","salon" of V. Izdebsky, etc.). Travelled in Italy (1910-1911). Lived and worked in Moscow, Paris (1928-1938), Samarkand (1941-1944). Member of the Department of Fine Arts of the People`s Commissariat of Public Education (1918-21), of the Institute of Artistic Culture in Moscow (1920). Taught at the the Moscow Higher Art and Technical Workshops and the the Higher Art and Technical Institute (1918-28), at the Samarkand art school (1941-42), the Moscow Institute of Applied and Decorative Art (1945-52).
