NIKOLAI MIKHAILOVICH GUSHCHIN (1888-1965)
Painter, graphic artist, sculptor. Studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1910-1917) under N.A.Kasatkin, S.V. Malyutin and K.A.Korovin. During the Civil war settled in Tomsk (1919), then in Harbin, where practised, taught, participated in exhibitions. From 1922 lived in Paris, where participated in exhibitions of Russian artists living abroad, from 1934 - in Monaco. In 1945 restored the Soviet citizenship and in 1947 returned to the USSR.
