GEORGY KRESKENTYEVICH LUKOMSKY (1861-1939)
Graphic artist, art critic. Studied on and off at the architectural department of the Academy of Arts in St.-Petersburg (1903-1915), attended classes at the Stroganov Industrial Art School and K.F.Yuon`s studio in Moscow (1907-1908). In 1908 became close to the artists of "The World of Art ". Participated in a number of exhibitions: academic, of the Union Russian artists (St.-Petersburg, 1909-1910), "The World of Art " (St.-Petersburg, 1910), the International exhibition in Brussels, the Exhibition of Russian art in Paris (1910), etc. Wrote monographs and essays - guide-books to the architecture of Russia and Western Europe. Created series of architectural drawings of Russian and Western-European cities. In 1920 left for Constantinople, then moved to Berlin, then to Venice. At the end of 1921 settled in Paris. Organized exhibitions of Russian artists living abroad; worked in emigrant publications "Spolokhi" ("The Flashes of Lightning"), "Fire-bird", etc., as well as in Western-European art magazines: " The Studio ", "Apollo", "Beaux-Arts", etc.
